KeeperHawk Help

Install the app, start a trial or activate a license, scan a folder or card, review the best frames, then export only the keepers.

KeeperHawk reviewing photos on macOS

Quick start

This is the normal first-run flow for a new Mac.

Run the installer

Download the trial or paid installer, open it, and follow the macOS steps.

Open KeeperHawk

Launch the app from Applications and choose the shoot you want to review.

Scan your source

Point KeeperHawk at a local folder, camera card or external drive. Source RAW and JPEG files stay untouched.

Start the trial or activate

Use the 14-day trial, or open License from the KeeperHawk menu and enter your license key after buying.

What it can do

KeeperHawk is for moving from a full shoot to a smaller, cleaner keeper set.

Scan

Read a folder or card, show previews quickly, and preserve culling decisions without changing the original files.

Review

Move through frames, inspect focus, compare similar shots, rank bursts and mark the photos worth keeping.

Export

Copy the keepers to a selected destination and optionally open that destination in Lightroom Classic for final editing.

Core workflow reference

These are the main jobs the current installer is built around.

AreaWhere to use itWhat it does
Import Cull Source folders, camera cards and external drives. Scans photos, groups bursts, stores decisions and prepares keeper export.
AI review Bursts, similar frames and focus-critical sets. Ranks likely keepers, highlights focus evidence and keeps final choices editable.

KeeperHawk is decision support, not an autopilot. You can override the ranking whenever your eye disagrees.

Keep control

Use AI scores as a starting point, then keep, reject or restore photos manually before copying anything out.

When something does not respond

  • Confirm the source folder or card is still mounted.
  • Confirm KeeperHawk has permission to read the folder you selected.
  • Restart KeeperHawk after installation or after changing external drives.
  • Use Support if activation, scanning or export still fails.

Installing an update

When KeeperHawk tells you an update is available, open Downloads, close KeeperHawk, run the current installer, then reopen KeeperHawk. Your license and activation stay on the Mac.
